Top Classic Country Western Songs Can Motivate You And Inspire You To Higher Levels Too!

Country music rocks too. I like some country/western music -mostly the older stuff.

I think Roy Clark said it best...

Man, that was good, let's do it again! You can't do it again! I don't care how good it was...now, you can do something similar...

And then he starts his rendition of "Ghost Riders In The Sky" and does a great job of rhythm and lead. A lot of double pickin' and jammin' all over the fretboard. Very inspirational and talented. Sensational!

Some of the country/western bands I like are: Hank Williams Sr., Hank Williams Jr., Bob Wills, Chet Atkins, Junior Brown, Randy Travis, Charlie Daniels Band, and Willie Nelson to name just a few.

Willie Nelson..."after sunlight...when the sun goes down...I'd knew we'd never meet again... blue eyes cryin' in the rain..." Could there be an E chord in here? somewhere? ...hehe... The chord progression is E-A-E-B-E, before you go to A, you play open, 2, 4 on the low E string. Before you go to the last E chord in the progression you play on the A string - open 2 (twice) open, low E string - 4, 2 and then to the E chord and start the cycle over.

The lead is sweet and very easy too! On the B string, open 5 7 9 7 9 10 9 open 5 7 9 10 9 7 5 9 8 7 9 7 open 10 12 9*

* Note: Open is picking the open string, the numbers refer to which fret the note is on.

Life gets Teebus, don't it?

Johnny Cash sure had some great songs and lyrics. Check these out..these are coming from memory so if I mess up on my recollectin', ya'll be sure to let me know.

I hear the train a comin'...
it's rollin' around the bend,
and I ain't seen the sunshine..
since I don't know when...

I'm stuck in Folsom Prison...
and time keeps draggin' by...
When I hear that train bell whistle,
I hang my head and die...(Souie!)

"This is the sound of the next song (Smothers Brothers)"...it's Johnny Cash actually, but I can't remember all the words, so bear with me...

A Boy Named Sue

by Johnny Cash

Well, my father left when I was three and all he left me was this old guitar and an empty bottle of booze...

but the meanest thing that he ever did was right before he left he went and named me Sue.

Well, it was Gatlinburg in mid-July, and I just hit town and my throat was dry so I thought I'd stop and have myself a brew...

There on a street of mud sitting at a table dealing stud...sat the old dirty mangie dog that named me Sue...what could I do?

My name is Sue, how do you do? Now you're gonna die! wrestling with the mud and the blood and the beer. I can't remember when... he bit like a mule and kicked liked a crocodile...

I called him a pa and he called me a son and I come away with a different point of view...

Now if I ever have a son, I'm gonna call him Bill or George anything but Sue!
